Call it antiquated or time consuming, but you can't deny that receiving a personalized letter in the mail makes your day. Write someone a letter to let them know you're thinking about them. You'll improve their day (well, it might be a few days from now when they receive it) and brighten yours as well. It's simple to be happy.

Today, slip on a coat of shiny lacquer and smile every time you catch a glimpse of shimmer. The best part is that clear nail polish looks good over any other color, as well as on natural nails. It's one concrete way to slip a little pizazz into your life. It's simple to be happy.

Viral videos of baby pandas sneezing are a cure-all, as are cute pictures of cats on that "I can has cheezburger" website. Easy to find, and even easier to laugh at, a viral animal video is one of the easiest ways to lift your mood. Try it. It's simple to be happy.

Study after study has shown that wearing a smile on purpose, even if it isn't authentic, can make you see the world with a brighter outlook. Along with your clothes, put on a silly grin or a secretive smirk and bump your happiness level up a notch. An added bonus: it only takes 17 muscles to smile while it takes 43 to frown. Smiling will let you save a little extra energy that you can put towards that spring in your step. It's simple to be happy.

Getting something for nothing is one of the most enjoyable simple pleasures of this world. Let a company send you a free detergent sample, or antacid, or bumper sticker. Right now WalMart is giving away a free Maybelline foundation at http://instoresnow.walmart.com/In-Stores-Now-Free-Samples.aspx. Even if you miss this opportunity, there are numerous other websites offering freebies found easily by using a search engine. It's simple to be happy.

It's easy. It takes maybe thirty seconds (unless you sleep in a bunk bed which is significantly harder to make). Tuck your sheets in nicely, fluff up your pillows, and enjoy crawling into a neater nest tonight. Every time you look at your perfectly prepared bed it will make you calmer. It's simple to be happy.
